The Myth of Symmetry and Balance.

The article argues that there is no compelling evidence that the ancient Greeks believed in Antipodean lands to balance the globe. It is suggested that the Antipodean notion was a modern invention despite the fact that the ancient Greeks created the concept of Antipodes. The evolution of the Antipodean notion is also discussed.
