Abstract

The article reports on the increase in U.S. state funding and enrollment for preschool education, as well as the variation in the quality of preschool programs. It looks at the annual analysis on funding by the U.S. National Institute for Early Education Research for the 2015-2016 school year. The article discusses how the analysis also presented new standards for preschool education, including continuous quality improvement, development standards aligned with child assessments, and professional development support.
