Abstract
- Objective: to identify from the literature, scientific evidences regarding the nursing intervention to prevent the risk of infection in patients hospitalized of the Intensive Care Units. Method: bibliographic research, using the VHL (Virtual Health Library) portal with the databases: MEDLINE (Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online), LILACS (Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences) and BDENF Nursing data), from the descriptors: Hospital Infection; Nursing Care, Risk Factors, in order to answer the clinical question: "For the high complexity client with the Risk of Infection diagnosis, what is the most effective nursing intervention (or protocol) for its resolution? . Results: Studies have demonstrated the importance of education for the health worker, patient and their family members to support patient safety and minimize the risk of infection. Conclusion: The study showed low production highlighting the need for more research on the nursing diagnosis risk of infection, as to specific interventions to minimize the risk of infection.
