Relatively recently, together with the development of inhalator technologies the influence of asthma therapy on small airway condition and function has been enjoying stronger interest. The paper presents modern methods of small airway function assessment and theoretical background for explanation of research results concerning higher lung deposition of aerosol with AMMD close to 1.5mcm (micrometer). Authors discuss clinical importance of these findings for practical selection of the most effective form of inhalation therapy.
