Abstract
- The article reports the decision of U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in the case "United States v. Ermoian" in which court held that held that an investigation led by the U.S Federal Bureau of Investigation did not fall within the definition of an official proceeding. It reports that case came to the court as a result of a 2006 investigation by the Central Valley Gang Impact Task Force, a group funded by the Department of Justice to eliminate gang-related crimes in California.
