Abstract

The article discusses the measles outbreak at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Facility in Arizona from May to June 2016. It mentions that the first measle outbreak happened on May 25, 2016 wherein a detainee was hospitalized due to fever and generalized maculopapular rash confirmed to be measles by real-time polymerase chain reaction (rPCR). It adds that epidemiologic studies by health departments and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) identified 31 cases of measles.
