AIDS, Drugs, and the Histories of European Public Health Policies since the 1960s.

The article presents a report from an October 6-7, 2016 conference in Basel, Switzerland on the history of European public health policy and its response to drug abuse and AIDS since the 1960s. Topics of presentations delivered include organizations supporting diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of AIDS in Turkey, regional differences between East Germany and Turkey in the association of AIDS with homosexuality, and the 1995 crackdown on heroin users and dealers in Zürich, Switzerland.
