Abstract

The article offers information on mutations arise during RNA virus replication along with the viral mutation rates being the source of genetic diversity. Topics discussed include mechanisms for mutation in virus involves mechanisms intrinsic and extrinsic to viral replication; production of less-fit variants; and factors such as cellular chaperones, and recombination could buffer viral populations against deleterious and lethal mutations.
