Abstract

The article reports on environmental impact of waste generated by the Gallatin Fossil Plant in Tennessee, which are released to the Cumberland River, as of April 2017. It states that Tennessee Valley Authority produces significant amount coal residue a year, and mentions that coal ash is significantly unseen unless there is a major spill and, far less effectively regulated. It notes pollution of drinking water caused by the waste.
