Abstract

The article focuses on the instincts and epigenetics in the cellular and molecular mechanisms. Instincts which are viewed to be learned behavior and the way animals acquire the instincts for innate behavior is mentioned. The research on instinct that is evolved from learning is discussed. An overview on the plasticity model of evolution which states that plasticity can precede and facilitate evolutionary adaptation is presented.
