- Reports on the experiences of wounded soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division who have returned from the war in Iraq. Description of symptoms, including sleeplessness and nightmares, depression, fractured relationships, anger, dependence on medication, and post-traumatic stress disorder; Support group for injured soldiers on the military base; Loyalty to the war effort and a desire to be back in Iraq where there was a sense of purpose; Effect on families; Stigma attached to emotional wounding; Increase in number of soldiers surviving explosions and gunfire than in previous wars.
