Abstract

The article discusses the aftermath of the 1650 Battle of Dunbar, Scotland between the Scottish Covenanting army and commander Oliver Cromwell's English Parliamentary army, including the forcing of Scottish prisoners of war to march to Durham, England and the battle's casualties. An overview of the sending of Scots surviving the battle to colonies in the U.S. is provided. The excavation of human remains at a burial site of Scottish soldiers in Durham is discussed.
