Abstract
- The article explores the practice of metalworking in Megiddo, Israel from the end of the Middle Bronze Age until Iron IIB. It looks into the changes in the production processes, including the introduction of ironworking and the continuation of bronzeworking, where iron production was accompanied by a substantial increase in iron. The strong tie of metalworking and exploitation of metal resources to political power and social infrastructure is also examined.
