Abstract

The rotation precision of rotator is an important factor affecting the performance of mechanical equipment. It is a meaningful task to measure the rotation precision of rotator and analyze its effect factors. Based on the data acquisition principle of universal serial bus (USB) and the circle image method, an experimental test system for the rotation precision of rotator was set up in the paper. The software environment which is suitable for testing and evaluating the rotation precision was also developed by using VC + +. Depending on the high-performance computer with multichannel data acquisition instrument and the rotary accuracy testing software, the offline demonstration and online measurement and evaluation for the rotation precision can be realized efficiently. With the experimental system for the rotation precision, four kinds of methods for evaluating the rotation precision were discussed and the rotation precision was analyzed and evaluated by using least square circle (LSC) method. The results verified the validation of the developed system. Moreover, a good teaching demonstration and excellent experimental effect have been achieved by the developed system after many times of experimental teaching. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
