Two Spanish investigations to various allergens in rubber dermatitis showed that 56 % of 78 patients with housewives' eczema of the hands showed sensitization to various allergens in rubber gloves. They also found that hexavelent chromium was another of the allergens with a large number of positive reactions, but were unable to determine if this substance was used in the manufacture of any of the gloves.
