Abstract
- By exhaustively analyzing the book XX of The Iliad, this essay intends to show up the recurrence of the death understood as a grieving process that tries out the Hector’s heroism, whose unreadiness to die, which philosophy ultimately does not teach, explains his own inability to make a decision as well as the tragedy to the community affected by him by teaching the love for life as the fear of death in the only possible world.
