Abstract
- The article presents a case study of a patient with low-risk acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) presented with first relapse after conventional treatments using two drugs all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) and arsenic trioxide (ATO).Topics discussed include distinctly uncommon clinical course associated with a mutation in the promyelocytic leukemia gene (PML) allele, effect on the hybrid PML-RARA allele from mutations and poor prognosis of ATO-resistant APL patients.
