Abstract
- The article informs medical-surgical nurses about the antiviral medications that can be used to manage and treat herpes and influenza viruses. Topics mentioned include the treatment options for herpes virus infections including acyclovir, famciclovir and valacyclovir, the contraindications for these medicines including hypersensitivity, and the influenza antiviral drugs approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration including oseltamivir and Zanamivir.
