Abstract

Luke’s two New Testament volumes both contain ample evidence for the importance of miracles including healings in his missiology: they had an impact both on the missioners and on those who received their message. Pentecostals consistently claim to see Luke-Acts as no mere history lesson, but as in some way prescriptive for today’s Christian practices. However, current Pentecostal mission in Europe offers little evidence of enthusiasm for and the practice of miracles, compared to Luke’s writings and compared to Pentecostal practices in other parts of today’s world. Seeing this as a challenge to European Pentecostal mission, the paper calls for a return of such enthusiasm. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
