Abstract
- An efficient Cu-catalyzed stereoselective trifluoroethylation through the decarboxylative cross-coupling of cinnamic acid derivatives with CF 3 CH 2 I is described. The ready availability of the starting materials, the high level of functional group tolerance, and excellent E selectivity make this protocol a safe and operationally convenient strategy for the efficient synthesis of trifluoroethyl derivatives.
