Abstract

The article offers information of the ship in Austrailia's Marine National Facility (MNF) research vessel, Investigator used for a voyage to the Totten Glacier to find the reasons for thinning of the glacier. Topics include voyages through this ship enabled studies of hydrothermal activity and ocean iron processes, vessel's exposed gondola housed with high tech acoustic instruments, propellers and rudders helps the ship from coming in contact with the ice, and can map to full ocean depth.
