Abstract
- An essay is presented on German-Jewish political philosopher Leo Strauss's view between philosophy and Judaism which can be discerned in his skeptical engagement with Zionism. Topics include Strauss's commitment, interpretation of and conversion to Zionism, his rejection of German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche's doctrine of Redlichkeit, a radical kind of dogmatic atheism, and his sharp distinction between the claims of cutural, political and religious Zionism throughout his writings.
