Abstract

The author stresses on the confirmatory meta-analysis and cohort study concerning the Swedish adults who determined chocolate and cocoa flavanol consumption helps in lowering the risk of myocardial infarction and coronary artery disease. He states that the evidence-based trials concluded favorable effects of cocoa on insulin sensitivity, high-density lipoprotein levels and blood pressure. He also discusses the trend in medical literature on the use of food as medicine.
