Abstract
- The detection of rare gases in irradiated nuclear fuel is a great challenge in nuclear industry. Although gas measurement is not usual using SIMS technique, we show that xenon can actually be measured in an implanted UO2 sample by SIMS. The physical mechanisms of xenon detection are discussed and a method is proposed for xenon quantitative measurement. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
