- Reports that ecologists have discovered that the sea otter population around the Alaskan coastline has declined dramatically in the late 1990s. Estimations that the otter population has dropped 90 percent in the 1990s; How ecologists have witnessed sea otters being eaten by orcas; The puzzling nature of this find since the usual diet of orcas do not include otter; Implications of the declining otter population.
