This article presents a biography of Andrés García Costa, also known as Fray Andresito, a 19th century Spanish Franciscan monk. He was born on January 10, 1800 in Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands of Spain, and began his religious life in Montevideo, Uruguay, in the 1830s. His religious work has been recognized by Pope Francis, who has distinguished him as Venerable.
