Grupo psicoeducacional com pais em situação de violência contra filhos: relato de experiência.

The aim of the present study is to report on an interdisciplinary professional experience gained at the Social Assistance Specialized Reference Center (CREAS) in a town in the countryside of the State of Paraná, Brazil, more specifically on the handling of cases of domestic violence. Nineteen parents participated in this experiment and were referred to CREAS for educational and psychosocial assistance due to acts of violence against their own children. Ten weekly meetings were held, which lasted 90 minutes each. The results obtained indicate improvement in the lives of the parents, changes in family interaction and reduction of domestic violence.
