Abstract

The authors discuss global health diplomacy as a pillar of the security agenda in the U.S. They mention that early intervention lessens cost to the taxpayer, improves the capabilities of host nations to deal with a global health threat and protects U.S. citizens. They say that to spread the burden of international investment in diplomacy, leadership development and education will reap many-fold governance and health benefits in the countries that participate.
