Abstract

Due to the developments on energy industry, load forecasting has become a very critical issue. Therefore a number of studies were performed to develop innovative and intelligent models. However it is also important to determine the possible factors that effects load forecasting. For big regions this is a difficult task. On the other hand for micro regions such as Güney region used in this study, it is possible to observe and determine the factors that affect load demands. In this study for this aim most common models such as Neural Networks and regression models are selected and load forecasting is performed for the region. As a further study these models are used in a hybrid hierarchy to improve forecasting accuracy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
