Abstract

The contributions of neuropsychological knowledge of bullying are essential to understand its impact on neurobiology and behavior. The objective of this narrative review is to understand bullying in relation to their effects on brain development, with particular emphasis on the mediating role of prosocial behavior. Diverse studies have deepened on the anatomical and functional deficits implicated in cases of anxiety, depression, social pain, physical pain, lack of empathy, isolation, aggression, rejection and stress; symptomatology generally associated with bullying. This review concludes that this problem is not only the trigger for behavioral disorders, physiological, motor, psychosomatic, emotional and cognitive, also has implications for neuronal anatomical and functional level both offenders and children and adolescents who suffer bullying.
