Abstract

The article discusses the relationship between resource depletion model of self-control and binge eating. It notes that binge eating is characterized by overeating and a sense of loss of control that leads to adverse health conditions like excess weight gain and development of full-syndrome eating disorders. It stresses the need to better characterize momentary factors involved in binge eating and recommends further research to test depletion model for those engaged in binge eating.
