Abstract
- The article discusses misconceptions on resolution, camera pixel count, interpolation and their effect on astronomical images, confusions between image sharpness and resolution and examination of pixel count as not a guarantee of image sharpness or high resolution. These include image sharpness as an indication of a well-balanced data in the spatial-frequency domain no matter the size of the image while resolution is a measure of how many pixels cover a given detail in an image.
