Abstract
- In this paper we attempt to make a contribution to teacher training in comprehensive sex education. Considering the importance of the hidden curriculum in the transmission of sexism and the reproduction of gender inequalities, we developed a device to work with educational interventions in emerging conflicts at school, focusing on those that relate to gender and sexuality. For the implementation of the device we formed a community of practice of middle school teachers from different disciplines in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The device is based on image theater, which enabled us to address school situations from the viewpoint of the physical body, revealing dimensions of sexuality often silenced in school. Using the proposed scene, teachers were able to reflect on the tensions and meanings attributed to pregnancy in the school system. We concluded that this type of analysis can represent a way to reflect on the roles and relationships of power, giving teachers new tools for situations that occur in school life.
