Abstract
- The article discusses the concept of indigenous peoples-related internationalism in connection with what the author refers to as local activism, violence, and other illegal forms of protest as of 2016. Indigenous sovereignty and state-run criminal justice systems are examined, along with Sámi activist and fugitive Niillas Somby's opposition to the Norwegian government’s Alta-Kautokeino Hydroelectric Project, his ability to maintain his freedom, and the activist Sámi Action Group.
