Autoimmune Thyroiditis in an Adolescent Girl on Lithium.

The article presents a case study of a 14-year-old girl who was diagnosed with autoimmune thyroiditis after exhibiting symptoms of depression and suicidal thoughts. She was admitted to a residential treatment center (RTC) and her medical history includes hypothyroidism and the prediabetes. She was given lithium for treatment which resulted to an abrupt decline of mood.
