Abstract

We present discussions about how teachers interact with math curriculum materials, within a qualitative research. The data collection took place in a focus group, with the participation of eight teachers. The analysis was performed based on Sacristán when analyzing the level of the curriculum presented to the teachers, and on Remillard and Brown when it was about the use that teachers do of the mathematics curriculum materials and its impact on education. Teachers report that the participation in this research project and the use of the materials presented had a great influence in the activities they carried out in the classroom, thatwere better planned and carried out more properly; and pointed out the need of such studies to be part of the teachers' formation.
