Abstract

The article describes the case of a 33-week-old neonate who was delivered through induction of labor following a diagnosis of fetal hydrops due to the occurrence of a small right pleural effusion which was identified by paracentesis as chylous ascites. Ultrasound result at 19 weeks showed fetal ascites and polyhdramnios. The article also discusses the rare neonatal chylous ascites including its etiology, treatment procedures, and resolving lymphatic leak as the goal for surgical intervention.
