Abstract

The financial illiteracy rate within the African American population is extremely high. Balancing a checkbook, saving for the future, or planning for an annual vacation are strange concepts for many living in impoverished' communities. For individuals in this group living from payday to payday is a struggle. This project seeks to identify tools and best practices that could assist in reducing poverty and increase wealth for African Americans. A major focus is with African Americans because the need in this area is so great and the knowledge is minimal. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
