Toward strategic, coherent, policy-relevant arctic science.

The authors reflect on how a modified Arctic Council, the formalized body for Arctic cooperation, could play a greater role toward strategic policy-relevant arctic science. They suggest anyone with an interest in Arctic science should be able to contribute to it and states social sciences should also be included to help understand how natural systems interact with human systems. They mention scientific data from the Sustaining Arctic Observing Networks and arctic conservation efforts.
