Selected papers from the seventh itu kaleidoscope academic conference - Guest Editorial.

This issue of the Communications Standards Supplement includes updated versions of selected papers from the seventh International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Kaleidoscope Academic Conference. The conference took place in Barcelona, Spain, 9-11 December 2015, as part of the celebration of the ITU's 150th anniversary. The topic of the conference was "Trust in the Information Society", and the event was technically co-sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the IEEE Communication Society, and the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers of Japan (IEICE).
