Safe and effective tumour necrosis factor-α inhibitor (etanercept) treatment of chronic episodic arthritis in a patient with cystic fibrosis.

The article presents a case study of 46-year-old cystic fibrosis patient with pain and swelling of the knees and ankles. Topics discussed include presence of synovitis in the knees as reported from ultrasound, administration of prednisolone drug doses without proper inflammatory control and had developed osteoporosis, treatment of the patient with etanercept, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α inhibitor., which reduced the symptoms.
