Abstract
- The article presents a study that proposes that the effect of self-discrepancy of pain outcomes is accounted for by psychological inflexibility, which involves the psychological processes that guide behaviors in the pursuit of goals and values. Topics include the results confirming that psychological inflexibility partly accounts for the variance observed between self-discrepancy and pain outcomes. Also mentioned is the study providing insight into the mechanism on patients' pain adjustment.
