Abstract: The article examines the United Nations' (UN) peacekeeping efforts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as of July 2016. A background of United Nations is provided which was established in 1945 prevent and remove threats to international peace. Also discussed are UN's establishment of the Force Intervention Brigade to disarm rebels in Congo, the role of regional organizations in addressing the rebel crisis, and military cooperation between the UN and Congo.
