Abstract

Classical Pentecostal churches have traditionally placed a strong emphasis on divine healing and many can testify to God's healing power in their lives. But placing too much emphasis and expectation on a person's health has sadly caused many people with long-term illness and disability to become disillusioned with the church. This article considers some of the practical and theological issues facing people with disabilities who attend Pentecostal churches and seeks ways to challenge what is considered ‘normal’.
