ChemInform Abstract: Cu Insertion into the Mo12 Cluster Compound Cs2Mo12Se14: Synthesis, Crystal and Electronic Structures, and Physical Properties.

Polycrystalline Cs2CuxMo12Se14 (x = 0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0) phases are prepared by reacting stoichiometric amounts of Cs2Mo6Se8, Mo, and MoSe2 under Ar (sealed Mo crucible, 1573 K, 40 h) followed by reacting Cu powder with the as-prepared material (evacuated silica tubes, 1173 K, 48 h).
