Abstract

In this article, a decentralized droop control scheme is proposed based on traditional current-voltage type droop control. This approach not only can eliminate the deviation of DC output voltage, it can also adjust the sharing accuracy of DC output current in multi-terminal high voltage DC systems. The averaging DC output voltage and current of two neighboring converters are employed to reduce the complexity of the communication networks, which include both radial and mesh configurations. In order to demonstrate the stability of the proposed method, the Pi-section line model of DC cable is used to simplify the model of multi-terminal high voltage DC networks, and the impact of varying DC cable impedance parameters and low bandwidth communication delay time are analyzed in detail. Finally, simulation results derived from a multi-terminal high voltage DC system is implemented in MATLAB/SIMULI-NK to verify the proposed approach. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
