Abstract

The historical development of Lithuanian anatomical terminology goes back to the seventeenth century. Anatomical terminology, as a comprehensive system of the names of human body parts is being compiled gradually. The research focuses on the analysis of some aspects of differentiation and congruity of anatomical terms of the authors of Latin-Lithuanian dictionaries, published in the beginning of the 20th century and the Medicinos terminų žodynasdictionary. About 270 Lithuanian anatomical terms with Russian and Latin equivalents were collected by J. BasanavičiusThe reasults of investidation shows that XIX century was the most productive.
