Abstract

The article discusses the museum-quality prehnite and zeolites found in the Jurassic Orange Mountain traprock quarries of Paterson, New Jersey. Topics include the secondary minerals precipitation controlled by some volcanic structures, such as pillow voids, lava tubes and diapirs, the geologic setting which explains the distribution of traprock quarries in the state and the mineralized cavities found in the flow lobes and pillow basalt layers.
