Abstract

The article presents a report from an April 5-8, 2016 conference on the history of books hosted by the Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel library. Topics of presentations delivered include an analysis of marginalia and border drawings, the history and social role of book collecting, and the use of bookworn damage patterns to determine books' provenance.
