Abstract

The article presents the study on the effect of serum collection tube on steroid hormone stability. It states that the study used two tube types and collected serum samples from healthy volunteers. It notes the progressive and statistically significant decrease in androstenedione concentration from D0 to d5. It suggest the use of plain serum collection tubes to optimize conditions and lessen pre-analytical error.
